Extension & Enrichment Activities

These cross-curricular enrichment activities enhance children’s creativity with a wide variety of crafts, puzzles, games, and outdoor activities that will help you extend any topic. They build skills in critical thinking, listening, memory, visualization, and concentration through singing, hands-on science experiments, physical education games, word puzzles, art projects, and more!
Enrichment activities are divided into three core areas: work-related learning, community participation and personal development.

SWIMMING (Classes IV to XII)

The students are trained in this life skill. Intra school competitions are also held. The students are also encouraged to participate in Zonal, State, National and International levels of swimming competitions.

TENNIS CLUB

The Tennis club was started in 1928 and celebrated Silver Jubilee in the year 1954. The club started conducting the All India Lawn Tennis Association Talent Series, National Ranking Tennis Tournament from December 2003.

All the 3 courts have been converted to world class synthetic courts. KIMS Academy is undertaking coaching for the members from December 2001. Students of the school who are good in the game are selected and sponsored by the school for coaching.

BADMINTON CLUB

The club celebrated its Silver Jubilee in the year 1954. In February 2008, two courts were inaugurated. The school has coaching facilities to take the standard of this sport to greater heights. Students of the school who are good in the game are selected and sponsored by the school for special coaching. White Peacock provides special coaching facilities

NEWS PAPER IN EDUCATION (Classes I to X)

The school has a tie up with The Deccan Herald and The Hindu for this programme.

The school has subscribed to The Young World which is a Weekly student edition of The Hindu. The daily student edition of Deccan Herald has been subscribed for all the students of Class V to X. Various activities are conducted based on the news paper editions.

SCOUTS & GUIDES (Class V to VIII)

The school is a member of the Scouts and Guides Division. The students from Class VI to VIII may opt for it. Various levels of exams and camps are held as part of the programme. Classes are conducted every Saturday during school hours

MUSIC / AMRUTHAVARSHINI (All Classes)

The students are trained in Carnatic / Semi classical vocal music. This is a part of the regular time table for all classes.

Amruthavarshini is an annual music festival celebrated in the school with grandeur with an eminent musician gracing the occasion. Annual music competitions are also conducted prior to this event.

ASTRO CLUB

Astro Club was inaugurated on 9th October 2021 during World Space Week. The Astro Club adopts simple ways to enable the students to have fundamentals, while learning things, use powerful telescopes for sky watch use Astrophotography and image processing tools for Astro data processing, understand the dynamics of space science. Our students have access to the best of tools and technologies to explore our universe and seek great career in space technology and exploration.

YOGA (Class III to XII)

Yoga is a part of the regular time table. Various asanas and meditation techniques are taught to the students at appropriate levels.

NCC (Girls’ Wing)

NCC girls’ wing was inaugurated in the year 2016. It is available for the girl students of Classes VIII & IX. Regular sessions are conducted. The cadets will also be attending annual camps shortly which will be of immense value in their academics as well as future job prospects.

INTERACT & KINDERACT (Classes V to X)

The club was started in2010 under The Rotary club of Bangalore Cantonment. Notable activities of the club were raising funds for Kargil victims, Victims of earthquake in Gujarat and for tsunami relief. Various activities are conducted regularly as part of this club. Interschool quiz competition is conducted every year and many schools participate in the same.

FIELD TRIPS

In order to give hands on experience and also for practical exposure, the students are taken on field trips to various locations appropriate to their level.

ASSESSMENT PROGRAMMES (Class III to VII)

Assessment programmes both national and international level such as International Assessment for Indian Schools conducted by The University of New South Wales, Australia and Starters, Movers and Flyers programme under Young Learners English of Cambridge University, London are undertaken in various subjects like English, Maths and EVS / Science, Computer Science.
